Product Description
The Broadcom eHBA 9600-24i is a PCIe Gen 4.0 Tri-Mode host bus adapter from the 9600 series, purpose-built for high-port-count, direct-attached storage in enterprise servers and large-scale external storage enclosures. Built on Broadcom's eighth-generation SAS4024 I/O Controller (IOC), the 9600-24i is a pure pass-through eHBA — it runs in IT mode with no onboard RAID, cache or CacheVault, handing drives directly to the OS, hypervisor or software-defined storage stack. Three x8 SFF-8654 (SlimSAS) internal connectors deliver 24 internal ports over a single x8 PCIe Gen 4.0 host interface, and Broadcom's Tri-Mode SerDes technology lets NVMe, SAS and SATA drives operate concurrently in the same enclosure. The adapter supports up to 240 SAS/SATA devices or 32 NVMe devices, is Universal Backplane Management (UBM) ready for U.3 backplanes, and adds Hardware Secure Boot, SPDM device attestation and SafeStore SED key management for platform security. It ships as a low-profile card with a full-height bracket attached.
